About This Event
BIOLUMINAL is an interactive audiovisual work by Miami-based multidisciplinary artist Francisca Oyhanarte that invites viewers to immerse themselves in a transforming aquatic world — a journey into the depths of the ocean where darkness unfolds its own language of light.
Bioluminescence, the natural ability of certain organisms to produce and emit light from within, becomes a central metaphor suggesting life concealed in shadow, inner energy, mystery, and transformation. The interactive animation pulses with its own energy, like a living organism breathing in synchrony with those who move through it.
Primary medium: Hand-cut paper composition, digitally animated and programmed as an interactive audiovisual installation.
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 29, 2026 | 6:00–9:00 PM. After exploring the installation, visitors are invited over to YARD Bodega for DJ Richie Hell live set featuring psychedelia, electronic mantras, acid melodies, and mesmerizing vocals.
